VICTORIA VARGAS- VPA DIRECTOR
Victoria Vargas is the owner and director of a successful Dance and Performing Arts Studio, VPA Studios located in Wollongong. Currently Victoria teaches courses within the Bachelor of Primary Education at the University of Wollongong, The Illawarra Grammar School, HSC Dance and holds her Certificate in Training and Assessment and is certified to deliver vocational training and programs. Over the years, she studied many styles of performing arts including lyrical, contemporary, jazz, tap, hip hop, musical theatre and singing. In 2006 Victoria went on to study at the University of New South Wales where she attained a double degree, Bachelor of Arts (Dance) and Bachelor of Education (Dance, English as a Second Language) and has since taught Drama/Theatre and Performance Studies. Throughout her career she has taught national award winning troupe and soloist routines and received intense training and tuition from many well renowned Australian and International teachers and choreographers. She has been teaching and choreographing all styles of dance for fourteen years, with a particular passion and interest in the contemporary, lyrical and commercial jazz genre. Victoria was a tutor for the Arts Unit NSW State Dance Ensembles. Her role was to foster the development of talented male and female dance students, and provide performance opportunities that showcase excellence in this art form. Victoria has an exceptional student achievement record as evidence of her Band 6 results in both Dance and Drama and her HSC Dance works selected for performance at 'Callback'. Victoria is passionate about developing and building student's interest, creativity, technique and performance excellence.
Georgia Robinson is a young and enthusiastic registered RAD ballet teacher who shares her passion and love of dance with her students, no matter their level of experience. She creates a safe learning environment for students, encouraging hard work and dedication as well as the beauty of artistry and musicality. Georgia, originally from Newcastle, has extensive Ballet Training with the Royal Academy of Dance having completed all grades with distinctions including Advanced 2 and attained her Certificate in Ballet Teaching Studies. In her studies, Georgia has completed both theory and practical units that assess physiological and cognitive development of children, practice and professional responsibilities, supplementary conditioning and how to create safe dance environments. The Certificate in Ballet Teaching Studies requires secure knowledge of government policies looking at issues such as child protection, equal opportunities and catering for disabilities in the learning environment. Alongside all Registered RAD teachers, Georgia has studied the Code of Professional Practice for Teachers Registered with the RAD. Having a secure knowledge of the key features of the RAD syllabi, Georgia holds the resources to create progress charts to plan student’s development over the course of the teaching term. Her mentor for the duration of her studies was Lauren Hustler and she was tutored by Claudine Anderson, Christina Sherwood, Carolyn Carattini, Helen Linenbah and Julia Barry. Georgia has worked collaboratively with other registered teachers in submitting students for their exams prior to receiving her registered teacher’s status in 2017. Georgia performed for the release of Lady Gaga’s perfume ‘Fame’ and also danced for the launch of the Mazda CX5. Some other credits include The Voice Channel 9 dance extra and the Toyota Gala Awards 2015. Georgia has also performed at the HINO Dealer of the Year Gala and for Air BNB on a float in Mardi Gras. She has been a backup dancer for C+C Music Factory, performed at Prudential Sydney convention, Carpet Court
Sydney born and bred, Lauren began her training at Brent Street Studios at eight years of age and continued right through to her fulltime graduation in 2011. Lauren has worked extensively as an actor appearing in Dance Academy (Lulu), Razzle Dazzle (Leanne), All Saints, The Pillowman (Belvoir) and numerous commercials. She has had the privilege of working with some of Australia’s top choreographers including Kelley Abbey, The Squared Division, Mitchell Woodcock, Marko Panzic, Matt Lee and Wil Sabin. As an in demand commercial dancer, she has performed across the country with the likes of Little Mix, Jessica Mauboy, Dannii Minogue, Client Liaison, Nat Conway, Havana Brown, Samantha Jade, The Veronicas, Sneaky Sound System and The Illusionists.
Kaylee started dancing in Sydney at the age of 5. Throughout her 13 years as a student Kaylee trained in numerous styles of dance including jazz , ballet, tap, hip hop, contemporary and acrobatics. After the completion of her A.D.A exams (formerly known as FATD) and graduation, Kaylee pursued further training overseas. In 2017 Kaylee was successful in becoming a part of the world renowned hip hop company “The Royal Family” Moving to Auckland, New Zealand and training under Parris Goebel, Kaylee competed in HHI Nationals (Auckland) with the company and further progressed to HHI WORLDS ( Phoenix ,Arizona) Throughout the year Kaylee travelled across New Zealand touring with the company. Her time in New Zealand solidified her pursuit of a professional dance career. Since returning to Sydney Kaylee has been a part of various Sydney based projects and jobs. Still training herself Kaylee hopes as a teacher to impart the knowledge and training that she has gained as a student, to her own students.
Kelly's passion for the art form has seen her perform and study across Australia, United Kingdom and America. She is GWT Trained with 20 years performance experience within the industry under some of the industry's most accomplished talents. Kelly has been teaching and choreographing all styles of dance for many years, with a particular passion and interest in the tap and jazz genre. After graduating High School, Kelly enrolled in the Pineapple Dance Studios Summer School in London where her passion to further her teaching and performance career expanded after working with some of the world's leading choreographers and mentors. Kelly has also studied the Glenn Wood Tap Syllabus achieving above 95% in all of her exams as well as completing the Glenn Wood Teachers Course and is now currently studying her Masters of Sports Management. Kelly’s passion to teach is indescribable and is ardent about developing student's interest, commitment and technique in dance and performance. She wishes for her students to achieve a sense of enjoyment and personal fulfillment from dance at all levels, as well as have the ability to partake in as many opportunities to benefit and enhance their performances skills as possible.
Born in Sydney, Jake grew up learning many styles of dance which has led him to some great experiences and opportunities such as performing in numerous corporate functions and shows over NSW. Jake has had the privilege of learning from some of the industry’s best tappers including Nathan Sheens, Mitchell Hicks, Lee Macdonald, Sean Robinson, Glen Wood to name a few. Jake (JW) after teaching over 30 studios specialising in Tap JFH and Hip Hop, hosting workshops and master classes over NSW Jake has decided to further his career not only as a teacher/ choreographer but to focus on his new Fresh live Entertainment Company CLIQUE ENTERTAINMENT.
SKYE ASHLEY MARTIN
A former professional ballerina Skye began her dance training at the Sharon Hardy School of Dance in Campbelltown at 3.5 years of age. By age 11, her National Character teacher Rita Dubovsky transferred Skye to begin her training with The Tanya Pearson Classical Coaching Academy in St Leonards. At age 14 she began her professional training as a full time student under Tanya Pearson, which led her to audition for overseas schools in Europe by 15. Skye accepted a place with the Ballettschule of the Hamburg Ballet, John Neumeier and commenced her training in Hamburg, Germany at age 16.
Touring with the company to Japan and successfully being involved with the company's productions of Swan Lake and La Bayadere the following year she was offered a full contract with the Hamburg Ballet Company.
Skye performed in over 50 different productions in the Corps De Ballet as well as some Soloist roles with the company including traditional classical productions, neo-classical pieces and contemporary works. She has travelled all over the world with the Hamburg Ballet performing in Theatres and Opera Houses in Paris, New York, Tokyo, Athens, Barcelona, Baden Baden and Vienna just to mention a few. At 22 years of age and after 6 years of professional dancing Skye returned home to pursue a career in teaching dance. Since then she has been sort out to teach in various prestigious schools throughout Sydney and specialises in Classical Ballet technique, Stretch and Strengthening, National Character, Neo-Classical and Choreography. Many students who have trained with Skye have gone on to train or dance professionally in Australia and overseas.
After learning at a very young age his passion for contemporary dance and ballet, Samuel embarked on his professional training at just age 14. At the age of 16, he was invited to partake in a traineeship with Brisbane based contemporary dance company, Expressions. Samuel Dominic is a classically trained Contemporary and Lyrical choreographer that works with dancers to build a strong technical foundation that will allow them to perform to their fullest potential. Training under the guidance of Sonja Middelbosch, Samuel’s international stage credentials include: Royal Caribbean’s “Saturday Night Fever” The Broadway Musical, Royal Caribbean’s “In the Air” A full acrobatic and aerial Show, Norwegian Cruise Lines “Encore”, “Rock You Tonight” and “What the World Needs Now” As a well sought after Choreographer and Coach within Australia, Sam's vision is to inspire each student to explore their creativity within the Contemporary and Lyrical genres.
